Week Three

This week was quite full but I worked hard to complete the action research plan. I had the opportunity to have two of my supervisors read the plan and I received very insightful feedback. I am looking forward to hearing other feedback.

Here is a link to my action research plan:

  1. This is my second attempt to post a comment. Apologies if you get 2 posts from me, but the first one took forever and then I couldn't see it. Anyway, basically what caught my eye and made me think was the attendance data comparison you plan to do in the Dec 2010 timeframe. What do you hope to learn from that comparison? I ask because I also plan on using student attendance data, but I had not considered comparing to previous years. Maybe I should?? I am very interested in the results of your action research project because my project involves increasing graduation rates and dropout prevention and maybe I should be evaluating a program like you propose.

  2. I would like to compare the attendance rate of the current students in the program with their past year's attendance because I want to see if their attendance rate has change. The comparison will show me if this class has had an impact on their understanding of the importance of school, its connection to graduation, and its connection to the real world.
